These are the awards I have received during high school until the junior year:
- 1st place award in the Branson Science Research Symposium (freshman year) - BSRP in Physics/Material Science category, studying the tensile strength of 3D printed parts with respect to materials and print orientation.
- Top 2.5% among all Hispanic and Latino high school juniors in the PSAT/NMSQT (sophomore year).
- Honorable mention in the Branson Science Research Symposium ( junior year) - BSRP in Biotechnology (junior year), titled “Viability of 3D Printed PLA Scaffolds for 3D Cell Cultures”.
- Awarded the Branson Junior Research Fellowship (Math), having received $1,500 to develop a 3D-printed, motorized prosthetic hand controlled by electromyography (EMG) sensor data. EMG sensors measure the activity of the muscles and the raw data collected is filtered using machine learning for gesture recognition.
